Spirit runeword.

                                       
Spirit sword

crystal sword: Str req: 43
broad sword: Str req: 48
long sword: Str req: 55 Dex req: 39

Note: Weapons on normal cant drop with 4sockets. They start dropping with 4 sockets on nightmare. 
The recommend place to farm those swords on normal is the Cow Level.  White swords can be socketed using the Larzuk quest it will give the max sockets.

The formula to roll the sockets on swords in the Horadric Cube is:
Amn rune + Ral rune + Perfect Amethyst + Sword
When u click transmute a 1d6 dice is rolled, if the result is 4,5,6 you will get the 4 sockets. 1,2,3 result will ruin the weapon. So you got 50% odds to get what you want.

Spirit shield

Monarch shield: Str req 156 ilvl 72 The most common places to farm it is hell cow lvl or area level 85
The other shields who can get 4s got  are Aegis 219 str req!!! and Ward 185str req!!!
Only paladins shields can be better than monarchs for spirit shield.

STARTING THINGS ON DIABLO2

How much magic find i should use?  Should i kill every monster or focusing on uniques/champions? Where to farm? 

Those are the most common questions for new players on this post i will try awser it. A shoutout to the streamer @cerdace1 for motivating me to make this post.

Magic find

On diablo 2 we have a lot of magic find breakpoints, i will put only the mostly important ones in my opinion.

OBS: You need priorize killspeed over mf

167 magic find is 100% more chances toward uniques.

250 magic find is 125% more chances toward uniques.

375 magic find is 150% more chances toward uniques.

584 magic find is 175% more chances toward uniques.

1000 magic find is 200% more chances toward uniques.

White monsters can drop up to 1 magic item. (chances do alma negra 167mf,p1, 1/2.163.428)

Champions can drop up to 1 magic item. (chances do alma negra 167mf,p1, 1/127.905)

Unique monsters will always drop you 1 magic item. (chances do alma negra 167mf,p1, 1/50.373)

Superunique monsters will always drop you 2 magic itens. (chances do alma negra 167mf,p1, 1/127.361)

Bosses will drop up to 6 magic itens.(chances do alma negra 167mf,p1, 1/1.407)

OBS: Minions are considered white monsters but with higher treasure class.

You can check the odds for dropping something here on silospen.

Here you can check the treasure class of an item. The qlvl of an item determines what area level you need to drop it. Example: Mangs Song Lesson is a qlvl 86. So you can drop it on area levels 83 +.

OBS: Champions are +2 and uniques +3 on the original area level. Example: Cow level is 81. Champions are 83 and uniques 84.

No drop odds

All kind of monsters on this game have a Nodrop chances. On single players you can change the number of players typing the command /players. So the higher players counts the minus nodrop chances.

On players1 is 62.5%

On players3 is 38.8%

Players5 is 24.1%

Players7 is 14.3%

OBS Espcial monsters like ghosts and bosses have different nodrop odds. Ghosts have more nodrop odds and bosses lower ones.


Where to farm? 

Most commons areas to magic find are the area level 85.

Mausoleum, Pits, Ancients tunnels, River of Flame, Chaos, Worldstone 1,2,3 and the Throne of destruction.

Uncommon areas to farm (sometimes is good making a magic find routes)

Crypt AL 83 (when doing mausoleum), Maggot Lair AL 84 (last level is AL85), Durance of hate 1,2,3 AL 83(good place but hard because of the dolls), City of Damned AL84 and Plains of despair AL83(be carefull with the souls), Frozen river AL83 (this is where you rescue Anya, good place but very hard place because of the sucubus and souls), Glacial trail AL83 and Driftern Cavern AL84. Nihlathak's Temple AL83, Halls of Anguish AL83, Halls of Pain AL83 and Halls of Vaught AL83. 


Runes

Good places to farm runes killing monsters and not cited above. (high density/ghosts/cows)

Devilkin Camps (Ideal put them on a farm route) The tower cellar (Ghosts + Countess) 

OBS: Kill countess on p1 if looking for runes and p7 if looking for keys.

Weapons ranges for melee chars and mercs

Range = weapon rangeadder + size of the enemy


Monsters size 1 to 3, players, mercs and summons are size 2 (revives depends on size of the mob)

0 to 4 are the weapons ranges adders, 
When dual wielding the primary weapon range adder is used (always)


With range adder 4 attacking a unit size 3 you can hit at 7 sub tile range depending on where you are located, as you can see from the picture Diablo II uses isometric graphics on a diagonal grid, you get slightly less range on the vertical/horizontal axis.

Mephisto the lord of hatred



Mephisto uses the skills, lightning, charged bolt, blizzard, frost nova, poison nova and skull missile (very deadly).
On hell he got Cold, fire, lightning and poison 75%, Magic 50% and Phys 20%. Arround 95k life
He got very good loot table and go up to Cham rune

Best way to farm Mephisto.

If you're a begginer go /players3, if you´re godly geared go /players7. 
Find a good map of durance level 2 (Entrance of Durance level 3 very close to waypoint of Durance level 2).

Starting the run!
Start in act IV, telekinesis the waypoint and go to Durance level 2, teleport into the entrance of durance level 3.

The beginner approach.

Teleport to Mephisto and lure him till the river, positioning yourself down of the redline, he can´t reach you, cast yours spells and kill him, get the loot and go trough the red portal.
When in act IV save and exit. (REPEAT)



The pro approach.

Teleport up to the redline let your hireling tank him, kill him there, take the loot, teleport and pop the Mephisto superchest (decent runes patterns), teleport down and go to the red portal using telekinesis skipping the bridge of bones animation. 
When in act IV save and exit. (REPEAT)

Equip: Toped Crown of ages, 2/10 Caster amulet, 45@res sacred rondache spirit, Heart of the Oak, Enigma, Trang Oul gloves or Magefist, Arachnid mesh, War Travelers, Dwarf Star and Wisp Projector (can switch to Nagelrings for mf boost). Call to Arms and Spirit on switch

Inventory: Torch, Anihilus, Gheeds fortune, 1 FHR sc, the rest skillers (if playing p7) or 7mf scs (if p3)

FastCastRate: 125/9 frames FastHitRecovery:90/4frames BlockChance: 75 Maxed res

Dmg red: 23 Fire Absorb: 15 Light absorb 20 Magic find: 300 (p7) or 500 (p3)

Holy Freeze Merc Gear: Insight, Tal rasha helm and fortitude (Goal to max res)

Atributes
STR: To equip gear, DEX to Max Block, Vitality (The rest of the points), Energy:None

Skillpoints distribution: Max Hammers, Vigor, Concentration Aurea, Blessed Aim. 1 point into sanctuary and redemption (very usefull skills), Rest of the points on Holy Shield.
