The Pits and the PoisonMancer

The Pits is located in the Tamoe Highland, it's my favourite place in diablo 2. It's a wide and dense area divided in two areas (pits lev 1 and 2), area level 85 (which means u can drop every item in the game), up to 8 bosses/champions in the first level and up to 4 in second level.

In the pits you have Devilkins, Devilkins Shamans, Dark Stalkers, Dark Archer, Bone Warrior. To be honest the only one you need to worry about are the Dark Archers, they can shot you down insanelly fast.

Devilkins (demon), Fire Imune
Devilkins Shamans, (summoner demon), Fire Imune
Dark Stalkers (corrupt rogues), Cold Imune
Dark Archer, (corrupt rogues), Lightning Imune
Bone Warrior (Skelly), Cold Imune

The resistances of the monsters:

Devilkins, Physical 15, Magic 0, Fire 120, Cold 40, Lightning 0, Poison 0
Devilkins Shamans, Physical 15, Magic 0, Fire 110, Cold 0, Lightning 0, Poison 0
Dark Stalkers,Physical 20, Magic 20, Fire33, Cold 130, Lightning 33, Poison 20
Dark Archer, Physical 15, Magic 0, Fire 25, Cold 25, Lightning 110, Poison 25
Bone Warrior,  Physical 33, Magic 0, Fire 0, Cold 110, Lightning 0, Poison 75

The Poison Necromancer

My best char to run the pits certainly is the poison necromancer (mine is lev 91 currently, 75fcr, 500 mf and crappy res because i don't need them lol).

The build: Max points into, corpse explosion, poison nova, poison explosion and poison dagger. 1 hardpoint into lower resist, iron golem and summon resist, the rest of the points i put into golem mastery (to my iron golem be tanky, 5.5k life before battle orders).

Another options: Some ppl like revive skill to be more safe, i don't use it because the summons lag my PC asf xD. Also some ppl prefer Clay Golem over Iron Golem because it's more tanky, personally i prefer the iron golem with lawbringer because of the sanctuary aurea knocking the undeads in the pits and decrep is nice too.

The gear: Psn facet Dweb, toped shako, enigma, trang gloves, 2 nagelrings, arachs, wartrav boots, 35 spirit shield, rare amy (all skills, mf, str and res). Switch Call to Arms and spirit shield. Eth lawbringer in a balrog blade (for the iron golem or insight).

Inventory: Necro torch, ani, gheeds, cube and the rest of mf small charms (no skillers needed! wtf!?).

The merc gear: Infinity (on the best base you can, mine is on a eth Colossus Voulge), Andy visage (With ias + res jew) and Fortitude runeword on a ebugged eth armor.

Beign effective: After keep playing with the necro i lowered the magic find and increased my damage with psn skillers and soj and a psn facet on my shako, that give me a better speed but now i'm on 350 mf, but i think is worth. (You need aim 300mf and 10k psn dmg, right now i'm on 8.5k psn dmg because i don't have many skillers).

The Hobo Gear: Blackhand Key wand, Tarnhelm/peasant crown/lore, trangs gloves, vipermagi/skulders, rare or unique necro shield, goldwrap/crafted caster belt, rare boots, rings mf, amy crafted caster/mf/eye of elitch. (Be shure to reach the 75fcr, you should use clay golem over iron if you're poor ). If you're using this option go max players3.

merc gear: treachery/smoke, insight, tal rasha helm/crown of thieves

Gameplay tips: Teleport, when you find the mobs, 2 steps back, cast lower res on them and poison nova (no reason for spamming it ok?), after the first mobs dies cast amplify damage and corpse explosion.
All you need in this build is the first kill, that's why the merc need to be strong, your main dmg is corpse not psn nova.
I run the pits players8 with this build the only thing you need to be carefull is those damn archers with might and fanaticism aurea.

Hope you guys enjoy the post, please coment and share! Good luck and have fun!
